PCI Comliance

Cyber security has become a very significant issue in today’s scenario. More than 340 million computer records containing personal data & information have been involved in security breaches in the U.S. since 2005. Now hackers are moving towards smaller merchants because many have negligent security of cardholder data. More than 80% of attacks target small businesses.
Compliance with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS) is required for all businesses. Any business that honors credit cards as a form of payment is necessary by the Card Associations to be compliant. From the world's major corporations to small Internet stores, compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is essential for all merchants who permit online or offline, credit cards, because nothing is more significant than keeping your customer's payment card data secure. Making the security system compliant, should be one of the main objectives for any organization. Merchants are required to take a Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ). PCI is obligatory and imposed by the major Payment Card Associations: Visa Inc, MasterCard WorldWide, American Express, Discover Financial Services, and JCB International.
Small businesses are prime targets for the hacking of data. As a merchant, you are accountable for the safety of cardholder data and must be careful not to gather definite types of data on your systems or the systems of your third party service providers. You are liable for any damages that may arise as a result of a data safety violates or non-compliance with the PCI Data safety Standards.
Petroleum Card Services is required to report to the Associations that you have met all of the conformity requirements. To gather the requirements we have developed the PCS ProGuard Compliance Program.
To become compliant with Petroleum Card Services, visit www.petropci.com and begin reading on the home page and follow the link at the bottom of each step. After reading the procedures and policies you will have the knowledge to answer the required questions on the SAQ.
